George Lucas Says Fisher, Hamill and Ford are Returning for Star Wars: Episode VIISubmit Comment
Carrie Fisher recently confirmed that she'll return for "Star Wars: Episode VII." Her representatives immediately released a statement saying that the actress was joking. But in a new interview, George Lucas accidentally revealed that Fisher, Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford are all coming back for the new film.

"We had already signed Mark and Carrie and Harrison or we were pretty much in final stages of negotiation," said Lucas. "Maybe I'm not supposed to say that. I think they want to announce that, but we were negotiating with them."

According to a recent rumor, the story will focus on the children of Han Solo, Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker. The children will be about twenty years old. Meanwhile, R2D2 and C-3PO will be unchanged.

Luke's been putting in his sister? Or in Han?

Superman Returns focused on the child and that movie was ruined

So Duke Skywalker, Dan Solo, and Leia something.

I hope their screen time will be limited.

This really does have the possibility of being worse than every Jar Jar scene.

I just hope Fisher and Ford remember their dentures, and Hamill gets on a diet.

@Crazy: Wouldn't say SR focused on the kid, but he sure was a ridiculous MacGuffin. Only the Crystal Skull is worse. Should have focused on Superman being the bad ass only Superman can be, but instead we got him looking stupid whilst aping Reeve. And the entire Lex Luthor Atlantean-Kryptonite plot device didn't help.

As for the news, everyone saying this will suck should think again. Disney has the CGI wherewithal to knock this out of the part, so visuals, check. JJ Abrams is on board to direct and he's not exactly a McG/Ratner slouch. Direction? Check. Michael Arndt is writing the script, and he did fine with Toy Story 3 and Little Miss Sunshine, plus Oblivion looks pretty f*cking solid. So screenplay? Check. You have the old crew coming back, so old school appeal? Check.

All that's left to put to rest any serious concerns is who they'll cast for the younger crew, the cast who will carry the water for the next trilogy. Big part, sure, but it's a good bet they'll cast them a little better that Lucas did with the second three films, and that's all anyone should need.

park.

Deaft0ne writes:

Yeah casting Hayden Christensen as Mannequin Skywalker railroaded AOTC and ROTS because he is such a bad actor and ROTS was barely saved by the ramping up of Darth Sidious and everything else to tie into ANH.

When I first heard about the prequel trilogy I said for the longest time that Ethan Hawke, Guy Pearce, or Jason Patric should play Anakin and this was because of all of them having a resemblance to Mark Hamill in ANH and that they are all good actors.

Hayden looks nothing like Hamill.
