Nemo certainly was a curse for our Friday night plans, but a blessing for our Ski/Snowboard Trip this weekend.

Sunshine, lots of fresh snow, and 15 enthusiastic New School students enjoyed the aftermath of a blizzard that almost blew us away just a day earlier. At 6am sharp students along with New School Recreation Staff left the city to Hunter Mountain for a day filled of snowboarding, skiing, and much more. Beginners and ?professionals? alike highly anticipated the arrival at the mountain to take on the slopes. Carolina Perez Aleman, Junior at Parsons recalls: ?I went snowboarding for the first time and even though I fell a million times it was still a lot of fun!?
After situating beginners at their lessons and taking the pros up the various trials, New School Recreation Staff had their hands full to make sure everyone came down the hill smoothly-especially since we were not the only ones that took advantage of the fresh snow. ?Sarah Lallemand, Junior at Parsons notes: ?Everyone that had gone to Hunter Mountain before said that it was the most crowded they had seen it. Overall, I am so happy that I went, it was a perfect day for skiing.?
We all convened for a lunch break in the beautiful sunny weather with music blasting and conversation taking its toll. It was evident then that this was an amazing day. After the quick bite, everyone headed back to the trails for another run or so to meet up later to head back to the city. On our way, we picked up the brave ice climbers before all of us fell asleep from exhaustion.
No doubt there could not have been a better day and better company to enjoy a Sunday away from the concrete jungle!
